Industrial Wide Belt Tension Tester
These testers are intended for INDUSTRIAL situations where:
- Belt tensions reach 6000 pounds...
- Belt widths reach 12 inches...

Need to measure tension in that big belt?
- It's EASY! -
The AWI and WB-170 product lines have you covered!

Guaranteed accurate readings.

WB-200 Tension Tester

A wide belt industrial tension tester capable of measuring force from 0-200 lbs (0-90 Kg.), and belt tension from 0-3200 lbs (0-1455 Kg.), on belts to 7½" in width. A single setting of the instrument allows an operator to bring belt force/tension to the desired amount.

Recommended for use on 5V-5VX belts and more. Will service 5V-5VX belts through 10 strands and more, C-CX through 6 strands and more, and D belts through 5 strands and more.

NOTE: The WB200 is a direct-reading instrument. Do not add together force readings indicated on the two outer spring-tension units. Instead, read only one of the plunger rods and multiply by 16.

Typical Belt-and-Sheave Application
Operation:
  1. Measure the belt span (see sketch as shown with AWI-I).
  2. Place a string on the center - backside of belt and secure.
  3. Set the small o-rings on the deflection force plungers' scales to zero.
  4. Position the tension tester squarely on the belt at mid-span with the string centered in the slot. Apply a force on the plunger perpendicular to the belt until the appropriate belt span length is indicated on the slot scale.
  5. Remove the tension tester and read the force applied from the bottom of the small o-rings on the deflection force scales. If the o-rings on the left and right side are not the same, then check the shaft alignment and make sure the force was applied evenly.
  6. Read the number of pounds force indicated by the o-ring on one of the outer plunger rods and multiply by 16 to determine the belt tension.
